Alapupuzha Beach

The Alapupuzha Beach is located in Kerala. Famous for its ancient herbal expertise, Kerala has always lived up to its reputation as the most natural beaches even with the massive amount of tourist interest. The pride of the people of the land kept the authenticity of the beaches intact and thus gained more popularity in the western countries as a must visit. Natural surrounding with the well renowned ayurvedic massages, colorful corals, and catamaran cruising complements the perfect holiday spot. The Alapupuzha Beach is in the Alapupuzha district in Kerala, India. Connected to the beach is a small park for the children to play or simply used by visitors for relaxing in the greenery when the heat of the sun becomes unbearable.

The Alapupuzha Beach may be small but its beauty cannot be underestimated. It is often referred to as the Venice of the East by travelers around the world. There is a host of wildlife supported in this backwater district and has contributed immensely to the marine life. The Alapupuzha Beach has an old pier which extends into the sea and is about 140 years old. The Alapupuzha district has plenty of lagoons, lakes and fresh water rivers to add to its natural beauty apart from the beach.

The nearest airport is the Kochi International Airport which is around 85 km from the main town area. The Alapupuzha railway station is around 5 km from the beach. Several thousands of foreign tourists thong the Alapupuzha Beach every year and has added to the economic growth of the locality. Most tourists enjoy the reality of the beach rather than a commercial tourist façade. Visitors thoroughly enjoy meeting the sailors of Alapupuzha and accompany them for fishing trips in large boats. The Nehru Trophy Boat Race is an event not to be missed.
