The Beach of Puri is located about 60km from the state capital, Bhubaneshwar and is very near the airport. Due to the availability of several trains from major metropolitan cities of India, Puri can be reached easily. A 60 km drive from Bhubaneshwar and 35 km drive from Konark is all what you need to get to the place via road.
Since the beach is influenced by the maritime climate , weather is subject to change on timely basis. But generally the weather is pleasant around the year with moderate temperature prevailing. While the temperature in the summer reaches to about 35°C on the higher side, the low temperature hovers around 23°C . The winter months are relatively cold the maximum temperature hanging around 27°C and the minimum about 16°C. Rainfall is adequate. Since the water current of the sea waters is not that favorable, swimming without proper supervision is not recommended.
